A drop in textile exports occurred within the first two months of 2024, in accordance with a publication of the Affiliation of Textile and Prepared-Made Clothes Enterprises of Greece (SEPEE).
Specifically, exports within the textile sector continued the downward development of the final half of 2023, though gross sales within the home market elevated.
Particularly, within the first two months of 2024 exports decreased by 22.3% in comparison with 2023, whereas retail gross sales amounted to 345 million euros within the corresponding interval of 2024 towards 310 million euros in 2023, exhibiting a rise of seven.9% .
Within the first two months of 2024, the entire worth of exports of the clothing-textile chain amounted to 295 million euros in comparison with 380 million in 2023.
On the similar time, exports of clothes fell by 15%, textiles by 22% and cotton by 32%.
As well as, imports fell by 8.3%. For the complete clothing-textile business chain, they reached a price of 518 million euros in 2024 in comparison with 565 million euros within the first two months of 2023.
