An unleashed Rat Verlegh Stadium screams NAC to victory o

NAC started the match strongly and this quickly resulted in the first chance of the match. Roy Kuijpers and Sigurd Haugen combined to make their way through the defense. Haugen tried to reach Kuijpers, but a Limburg leg barely managed to prevent this.

After fifteen minutes of play, both attackers once once more played a leading role. Kuijpers got the ball following a long throw-in at Haugen. The striker didn’t hesitate for a moment and shot the ball hard behind goalkeeper Raatsie: 1-0! A dream start for Jean-Paul van Gastel’s team.

NAC continued and stringed together opportunities. Omgba had a good opportunity to double the lead, but saw his effort fail on the keeper. The visitors also had a number of opportunities in the first half, but Pepijn van de Merbel was always there to keep his team going.

After the break, NAC continued where it left off; create opportunities. Ten minutes following halftime, Jan van den Bergh took advantage of a mistake in the Limburg defense. He passed Calvin Raatsie following which the goalkeeper dropped his foot: penalty! Janošek chased the ball and shot the ball well into the corner: 2-0!

That goal gave the Czech wings, because less than two minutes later the ball fell at his feet regarding twenty meters from the goal and he scored wonderfully: 3-0! He hit the ball hard into the side netting and brought the Rat Verlegh Stadium into ecstasy.

After the goal, the attacking drive of Jean-Paul van Gastel’s team continued unabated. NAC had various options to further expand the score, but this did not happen. The Limburgers were overwhelmed by NAC’s play and managed to create little danger themselves.

In the final phase of the game, NAC had two more great opportunities to hurt Bas Sibum’s team even more, but the efforts of Haugen and Jan van den Bergh lacked direction. On the other side a goal was scored. Out of nowhere, Brian Koglin beautifully shot a free kick into the top corner: 3-1.

NAC peaked at the right time and gives itself a good starting position for next Friday’s return match in Kerkrade. More information regarding ticket sales for the away game will follow soon.
