Books – Mahmoud Saeed:

The prosecution heard statements from the community girl in the incident where she accused an Uber driver of kidnapping her from the community desert and attempting to sexually assault her last Saturday night .

The girl said she ordered an Uber from her sister’s phone and got in the car at 9:56 a.m., heading from her home in the community to Sheikh Zayed.

She added that the driver, HA, asked her to cancel the trip and send the amount to her phone wallet (a ploy to avoid paying the company’s commission), but she refused and consulted her sister, who also supported his opinion.

At 10:30 p.m., Sally Awad, the victim’s sister, received calls from 3 personal numbers asking where she was to take her to her sister’s house. She said: “Here I became certain that my sister had been kidnapped.

After regarding 15 minutes, the complainant’s sister received a call saying, “I found your sister in the Third Colony desert,” adding that passers-by took her sister home at 10:36 a.m. when she told him the driver was there. He repeatedly threatened her, assaulted her and attempted to rape her, but she resisted.

The victim said she held the “electrode” in her hand until her blood flowed, and she pushed the driver with her feet, and he shouted at her: “I see your blood flows and you resist,” and she replied, “You won’t touch me unless you kill me.”

The girl managed to open the door in the other direction and was able to escape and call passing cars for help until they rescued her.

For its part, Uber indicated that it had taken the decision to suspend the account of the driver accused of attempted kidnapping and attempted rape of the victim, stressing: “We are working closely with local authorities to provide all the necessary information to complete the investigation process. We are determined to continue our efforts to combat all forms of sexual assault and violence.

The prosecution ordered that the driver be examined by forensic doctors to determine whether or not he had consumed narcotics and also ordered the seizure of the weapon used in the incident.

The prosecution summoned eyewitnesses to the incident that transported the girl from the Third Colony desert to her home.
