NHL Same Game Parlay Betting Tips for Rangers vs Hurricanes Game 5

2024-05-13 17:11:44

On Monday night, the New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes return to Madison Square Garden for Game 5 of this NHL Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Semi-Final.

In Game 4, the Rangers finally saw their undefeated playoff record end on the road once morest Carolina. The Hurricanes caught fire, scoring three goals to take a 3-1 lead into the second period. A late comeback by the Rangers briefly tied it in Game 4 before Carolina scored a power play goal in the final five minutes to seal their first win. Now New York returns to MSG as a home favorite, with just one more win separating them from the Eastern Conference Finals.

Monday’s NHL SGP

Leg 1: Vincent Trocheck to score 1+ points (-188)

Vincent Trocheck was held scoreless for the first time in this series during Game 4. Expect the Rangers’ second-line center to get going early at home, where he currently has a four-game hitting streak intact.

Skating alongside Artemi Panarin, as well as on New York’s best power play unit, Trocheck provides plenty of opportunities to either score a goal or assist on a scoring possession. Trocheck, tied for the most points scored on the Rangers in this series, has six total points through four games, all of which have come during the first three games. This is a good way to start our Same Game Parlay, especially at a fairly valuable price like -188 odds.

Leg 2: New York Rangers Moneyline (-106)

We’re rooting for the Rangers as home fans to wrap up the series in five games at Madison Square Garden. New York has won six straight games at home, dating back to the end of the regular season. They also covered the line of scrimmage once morest Carolina in 10 straight games and rallied late to nearly sweep the Hurricanes on the road in Game 4.

Yes, the underdogs have won each of Carolina’s last six games played at MSG, but following their first loss of the playoffs, I expect the Rangers to come out and build an early lead with a lot of pucks on net. Frederik Andersen is the confirmed goaltender for Carolina and he has allowed three or more goals in each start of this series. Igor Shesterkin is the better netminder by a wide margin and he will hear a lot of support from the fans on Monday night, leading the team to another victory in the playoff series.

Leg 3: New York Rangers total goals over 2.5 (-142)

New York has scored three or more goals in every single game played this series. Andersen getting the starting nod is ideal to insert this final leg of our Same Game Parlay, as he has allowed three or more goals for the duration of his playoff starts.

We know that the Rangers are deep and loaded with scoring talent along their roster, especially the top two offensive lines. If there are three or four power play opportunities, there shouldn’t be much resistance to scoring more than 2.5 goals total in Game 5 once morest Andersen and the Hurricanes on home ice.

Same Game Parlay: +158

By combining a Vincent Trocheck point with the Rangers’ moneyline odds and their team total over 2.5 goals, we create a +158 Same Game Parlay to place before Game 5 on Monday night.

It’s been a few days since we exchanged an SGP, with our last victory comes during the Rangers’ 3-2 overtime win on the road in Game 4. This feels like a game where Trocheck gets heavily involved, as we’ve seen in the first two home games for New York. Ideally, the Rangers score one or two goals in the first period to build a lead instead of being forced to mount a late comeback.

Either way, we’ve seen how the Rangers respond to adversity in this series. By the end of Game 5, whether it’s a blowout or a third overtime win, I expect New York to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, score three or more goals and get a contribution from Vincent Trocheck to pay this +158 SGP for us to celebrate.
