“Relations between Hungary and Bavaria are based on mutual respect, appreciation and friendship.”

Both sides are ready to further expand the cooperation that is so important for Hungary, said Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó on Monday in Budapest during his meeting with representatives of the Bavarian CSU parliamentary group.

Bavaria is the most important trading partner and the third largest investor among the German federal states. Last year, more than a quarter of Hungarian-German foreign trade was conducted with Bavaria.

More than a third of German exports come from Bavaria, and Bavaria’s share of German companies’ investments in Hungary is 27%, Szijjártó informed. The government has concluded strategic cooperation agreements with several Bavarian companies, including Audi, Knorr-Bremse and Siemens.
