The wildfire, which probably started from a spark flying from the fire, spread very quickly due to the strong wind, and by the time the rescuers arrived, the fire had already covered 150 square meters of ground. The fire was extinguished at 20:57.
On May 11, at 1:35 p.m., Palivere volunteer rescuers removed a large oak tree that had fallen onto the road in Vidruka village, Lääne Nigula municipality. The tree had closed both directions to traffic. The rescuers cleared the road for safe traffic once more.
On May 11, at 1:42 p.m., rescuers rushed to the village of Allikmaa in Lääne-Nigula municipality, where a field caught fire, probably from a spark flying from an ATV. The residents themselves had largely managed to get the fire under control, and Palivere’s volunteer rescuers flooded an area of regarding 200 square meters with water to ensure safety.
On May 11 at 3:21 p.m., rescuers once more responded to a wildfire. A spark from a fire inside a tin barrel ignited the surrounding fire. Although the fire safety requirements were all met, it did not prevent the dry surroundings from igniting. The people themselves immediately started extinguishing works with both powder extinguishers and garden hoses. Rescuers finally extinguished the fire at 15:38.
On May 11, at 7:02 p.m., the alarm center was informed that a smoke sauna was on fire in the village of Jalukse in the Lääne-Nigula municipality. The fire, which probably started from the heating of the sauna stove, quickly spread to the structures of the building, and the roof of the sauna measuring 3×5 m was completely destroyed in the fire. The rest of the building suffered fire and smoke damage. Rescuers extinguished the fire at 19:56.
