Chris Abbott becomes the new general manager of HV71

Chris Abbott comes closest from seven seasons in a similar role in Rögle BK. However, both he and his brother Cam Abbott, who was the head coach, had to leave the Ängelholm team in December.

In HV71, Chris will be responsible for all elite operations in the club, which includes men’s, women’s and junior teams.

“I look forward to being a part of this organization once more, with all the fans and sponsors who support the team in all situations,” Abbott told HV71’s website.

– In Chris, we get an incredibly serious leader who is also very skilled at building successful teams. He will clarify the common thread throughout our elite operations and with his experience and leadership style give us a stable foundation to stand on, says Andreas Davidsson, acting chairman of HV71.

Participated and took SM gold

HV71 is no unknown club for Abbott. He has played two seasons as a player and took part in winning the SM gold in 2016/2017.

– A great honor to be back and I have many good memories from my years in the team and the city, he says.

– It is very much regarding the players themselves, they are the ones on the ice that we rely on, the ones who handle tough situations.

The contract with Chris Abbott is valid for three seasons.
