Gresini Racing RACER Marc Marquez said he wanted to continue to challenge for the MotoGP title following standing on the podium once more at the Spanish GP in Jerez, two weeks ago.
This is Marquez’s motivation to win the podium or victory at the French GP, which will be held at the Le Mans Circuit, this weekend.
“The feeling (of the podium at Jerez) was really special because we managed to get through a very difficult moment, and it’s been a long time since we got on the podium and competed competitively with the top racers, and were able to maintain good speed,” said Marquez, quoted from the official MotoGP statement, Friday (10/5).
Apart from that, Marquez considered the podium at his home race to be even more special because he might finally feel fast once more on the track and compete with the top racers in the past two seasons.
“(The podium at the Spanish GP) feels good, because it’s been a long time since I felt fast in the main race on Sunday,” said Marquez.
Even though he has reached the podium following a long time, the eight-time world champion said he did not want to be complacent and immediately shifted his focus to collecting more wins and points in the standings this season.

“This is the first step, we will face some problems in the future at some circuits but it is nice to be able to fight with (Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin) who were at a high level last year and are title contenders,” he added.
The French GP series starts today, Friday (10/5). At 16.00 WIB the first free practice session (FP) will be held, then at 20.00 WIB there will be a training session.
