Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government bans import of rickshaws from Punjab – Pakistan

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has imposed a ban on the import of rickshaws from Punjab, arresting the people bringing the rickshaws and confiscating the rickshaws, scrapping the wagons and buses running on the BRT route and ordering the arrest of the drivers. Strict action once morest musical instruments in passenger vehicles was also decided.

Some important decisions were taken in the meeting chaired by Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud, in which it was decided that rickshaws were banned from GT Road Pir Zakuri Bridge to Suri Bridge.

The meeting included an order to impound and scrap wagons and buses plying on BRT routes and arrest the drivers and to impound and scrap illegal rickshaws, wagons and buses.

It was told in the meeting that the land of Benazir Hospital on the Ring Road has been allocated for scrapping, while it has been decided to impound the rickshaws running without permits and with permits from districts outside Peshawar.

Commissioner Peshawar Division has also decided to take into custody the rickshaws running on photostate permit and registration and has decided to seal all rickshaw making factories.

Commissioner Peshawar Division has also decided to take strict action once morest pressure horns, flashlights, black glasses, illegal number plates and musical instruments in passenger vehicles and said that pressure horns, flashlights and musical instruments will be confiscated at the same time. In the meeting, it has been ordered to arrest and confiscate the rickshaws of those who have banned the import of rickshaws from Punjab. It will be started while any person under 21 years of age will be arrested for driving any type of vehicle.
