A pernicious and lethal drug because a minimal dose is sufficient to kill a person or produce irreversible brain and physical damage, with a disproportion between the cost of producing the substance, which is small, and the selling price: therefore with a profit that is extremely interesting for organized crime.” Thus the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio in the closing press conference of the G7 in Venice.

«America has had a series of deaths due to fentanyl higher than those of the war in Vietnam: 60 thousand people in one year, in Canada there is the same problem and unfortunately, as expected, the drug is also spreading in Europe. In Italy we had the first example of an investigation and everything suggests that we will have more. There are many ways to attack a nation: military, economic and financial but there is also that of undermining public health, especially of young people”, she underlined.
