Mass fight at Tusenfryd – the police are looking for those involved inside the park

The report of a mass fight came in at around 2.30pm, the police told NTB.

– We are on site with several units and a helicopter. At least two people are injured – they have been hit in the face or head and are bleeding. They are looked following by health personnel on site, says operations manager Svein Walle in the East police district.

He confirms that there has been talk of knives, but that this has not been confirmed.

– We are still working to get control of people who we believe may have been involved. It is quite a large park, and we suspect that several of them have hidden among other people, says Walle.

Not applicable to close

The park is still open, and Walle says visitors have no reason to worry, but understands that people can feel uncomfortable with so many police in the park. The fight is said to have taken place in a larger group of young people.

– We don’t have personnel yet, so we don’t know where they come from. We work well with guards in the park to get the job done that we have to do. If anyone has witnessed the fight, they can call us or contact the guards or police inside the park, he says.

Managing director Bjørn Håvard Solli in Tusenfryd says it was never relevant to close the amusement park.

– The police quickly got control of the situation and stopped the fight. They are still present in the park, and we have our own guards and external guards, so there should be no problem, he tells NTB.

The management in Tusenfryd must have a summary of the incident together with the police.

Attempted robbery reported

Earlier this week, a twelve-year-old told that he was robbed when he was queuing to enter the park. Østlandets Blad writes that the incident has been reported.

Solli tells NTB that this is something they are following up on, like today’s incident, but that there is no indication that this is a trend.

– We had a great day yesterday with 6,000 visitors, and there were no signs that these types of events would happen today – but of course, these are things that we follow closely.

He points out that you can never guarantee anything, and that such incidents can just as easily happen in schools, leisure arenas, shopping centers and so on.
