Asunción, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Justice joins the eighth edition of the “Plantatón Paraguay 2024”, with the participation of officials of the institution and people deprived of liberty, in community work that benefits citizens this Saturday, May 11, from 8:00 hours, on the South Coast of Asunción.
The Ministry of Justice will implement one of the projects related to the reform of the penitentiary system, with the participation of PPL of the La Esperanza Industrial Penitentiary and the Ko’e Pyahu Farm.
In this edition it is intended to plant 5,000 more native trees.
The institution adjusts details of the project that aims for systematic and permanent work between the Ministry of Justice, governorates and municipalities in which it has a penitentiary establishment, so that people deprived of liberty collaborate with tasks that benefit those communities.
El Plantatón is an organization that is dedicated to the care, conservation and preservation of the environment through the design, development and execution of environmental projects, in order to create a generation of citizens who are more aware and responsible for the care of nature.
This initiative will also make it possible to offset the impacts caused by deforestation and mitigate the effects of climate change and each year a massive, responsible and sustainable tree plantation day is held.
Numerous public and private institutions participate in this action. From 2016 to date, there are already 80,000 trees planted in the territory of Asunción.
The tasks are coordinated jointly with the Municipality of Asunción, through its General Directorate of Environmental Management. These actions aim to generate quality recreation spaces and promote environmental awareness in each citizen.
