With the new Nintendo console on the horizon, gamers are looking for secrets wherever they can find them. The latest batch comes to us from dataminer OatmealDome, who discovered some intriguing details while analyzing the just-released game Endless Ocean Luminous.
Endless Ocean Luminous (our test here) was created using Nintendo’s in-house game engine, Bezel. According to OatmealDome’s observations, adjustments have been made to Bezel, which is evident when looking at the game’s source code. It seems that the latest version of the engine now allows games to generate up to 240 frames per second, well above the Nintendo Switch’s maximum. limit of 60 frames per second. This development is apparently accompanied by the ability to run a game at variable framerate, a display technique that allows games with variable frame rates to run more smoothly.

The latest version of the engine seems to support higher frame rates like 240fps? (The Switch can only output 60 fps.)
This only applies to games that enable the variable frame rate mode.
Not sure if the older engine versions also support this. pic.twitter.com/5kzm8aM8wx
