CELAYA, Guanajuato (El Universal).— When presenting her National Health Plan, the opposition presidential candidate, Xóchitl Gálvez, proposed a new health care model that provides free quality care and medicines.
After regretting the abandonment in which the federal government has of the Health Sector, he stated that, without privatizing, he will seek the support of businessmen and civil society to recover it.
Xóchitl regretted that due to corruption and inability of the government, Mexicans suffer from lack of medicines and poor care in clinics and hospitals. “No more incapacity or corruption at the front of health. No Hugo López-Gatell, rest assured. No President’s son will do business with medicines, I guarantee it!
“In my government we are going to fight corruption so that every peso is effectively invested in people’s health,” he promised if he won the elections. “We continue to mourn the death of 810 thousand people who died from Covid, their family and friends continue to miss them. Many of them might have been avoided, and because of the government’s incapacity and mismanagement, they are no longer with us,” he rebuked.
He accused that with Morena more than 30 million Mexicans were left without health services and today they pay with their own money for the medicines they buy in private pharmacies, even though they are beneficiaries of the IMSS or the ISSSTE, so on average each Mexican spends 5 thousand pesos a year to buy their medicines.
“This 2024 let’s recover our health, we have the historic opportunity to build together a new medical care model that saves lives, that guarantees the best possible quality of life,” said Xóchitl.
“We are going to build a comprehensive health system in which we bring together public, social and private services, so that we all have services and medicines of the same quality, so they can receive care in public and private hospitals and pharmacies alike, at the government’s expense. ”he offered.
