Why did the PCB remove him from office? Mickey Arthur’s interview caused a stir

Former Pakistan team director Mickey Arthur has spoken openly for the first time regarding his sudden removal from his post and expressed his concerns regarding the current state of Pakistan cricket.

In an interview with Cricinfo, a website that monitors the world of cricket, 55-year-old Mickey Arthur, talking regarding his sudden removal from the post, said that the review meeting following the World Cup was just an excuse.

He said that I would have had more respect for Zaka Ashraf if he had spoken directly to me regarding leaving the post.

He said that we got a settlement of three months as per the contract, if we had resigned immediately, we would have got nothing.

He also expressed disappointment over the current situation of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), acknowledging the talent in the team and saying that there is a lot of talent in the team but lack of support structure.

Mickey Arthur said that ‘the bitter truth is that Pakistan cricket is in a desperate situation, we got a three-month settlement as per the contract, if we had resigned immediately, we would have got nothing. I did not accept the responsibility which was impossible, according to the contract PCB might not give us new responsibilities, I still follow the Pakistan team and will continue to do so.

He also said that when there is insecurity among the players, the players focus more on their scores than the team, instead of playing together, they worry regarding their next tour and contract and this is very dangerous and unfortunately It is disappointing and saddening to me that the PCB is in the same situation.
