Lhe Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported “intense fighting” across the entire front line, as Russia launched a major ground offensive in northeastern Ukraine on Friday.
“There is intense fighting along the entire front line,” Zelensky said in a message posted on social media following being briefed on the situation by the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. “We discussed defensive actions and (ways) to strengthen our positions in the Kharkiv region,” (north-east), he added.

Intensification of fighting
Russia “will certainly intensify its attacks and commit more soldiers” in northeastern Ukraine “in the coming weeks”, and try to install a “buffer zone” along the border, a door warned on Friday – White House spokesperson.
“We do not anticipate any major advances” by Russian troops, however, added John Kirby, spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, adding: “We have confidence in the Ukrainian forces and we are working tirelessly to send them (…) the weapons they need to defend themselves once morest these attacks.”
