Indonesian men’s singles badminton player, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, admitted that he had difficulty in the match once morest Shi Yu Qi in the first match of the 2024 Thomas Cup final. Ginting found it difficult to find the right playing pattern in that match.

In the opening match, Ginting surrendered 17-21, 6-21 to Shi in the match at the Chengdu Hi Tech Zone Sports Center Gymnasium, Chengdu, China.

“Indeed, from start to finish, I mightn’t get out of the pressure that Shi Yu Qi gave me. “Starting from how to play, how to deal with conditions and situations on the field, how to find the right method,” said Ginting to reporters following the match.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist assessed that even though he had chased his opponent at critical points in the first game, Shi was able to quickly find a way to quickly end the match well.

The world number seven in men’s singles admitted that he actually felt no pressure to get points. He highlighted the speed factor in finding solutions to the opponent’s pattern of play, not the atmosphere of the home fans.

“It’s more regarding the way the game is played. He’s not an easy opponent either. “So (not because of crowd pressure), but more regarding how I am on the field, from non-technical matters such as how to stay calm, and others,” said Ginting.
