The young logging truck driver, whose identity has not been revealed, will certainly have a long life. During nightfall from this Wednesday to Thursday, May 9, 2024, while he was guiding with the torch, his colleague driver whose vehicle was obstructing the muddy road to Booué in the province of Ogooué Ivindo (north-east), to allow him to roll, he was surprised by the fury of a panther which threw itself at him.
The panther would have dragged him into the ravine. He screamed with all his might, over and over once more. There was panic in this virgin equatorial forest. The area is located near the Lopé National Park, which is full of fully protected wild animals.
The incessant cries of the driver (prey of the panther), immediately alerted the other drivers of the convoy of logging trucks. In a collective movement, they converged running towards their colleague in distress. An action that certainly pushed the panther to let go and disappear into the forest.
The damage was already half done. The claws of the beast have left the stigmata. The driver of the logging truck was saved thanks to the help of his colleagues.
