Asunción, IP Agency.- The National Anti-Drug Secretariat removed some 3,361,000 kilos of marijuana from circulation, causing damage of more than 100 million dollars to organized crime, since August 15, 2023.

This result was achieved through a strong offensive once morest production and trafficking at the national level, and even within the framework of actions based on international cooperation in the fight once morest drug trafficking.

From August 2023 to April 2024, Senad eradicated 1,048 hectares of weed cultivation, sufficient surface area for the final production of some 3,100 tons of the drug, through large-scale operations and specific actions by the different regional offices.

Also in the same period, 217,554 kilos of ready marijuana were seized, in different stages and presentations.

Adding the production potential of the eliminated plantations and the seized ready drugs, it is estimated that 3,361,000 Kilos of Marijuana (3,361 tons) were taken out of circulation, confirms the Senad.

The volume of canceled drugs in turn generated a loss of profits and a negative impact on the finances of organized crime of approximately 100,846,000 US dollars, according to the price of drugs in our country, understanding that in Brazilian territory the value at least triples. , reported the National Anti-Drug Secretariat.
