MEXICO CITY.- This Thursday, during his usual morning press conference, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obradoraccused that when “the narco State” reigned with the government of the former president Felipe Calderondrug traffickers ruled the country Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
“It reached the extreme that it reached command the drug traffickers in the AICM Or have we already forgotten what was said at the García Luna trial? that there was a code 35-45 and everyone turned to look elsewhere and the airport stopped,” said the president.
And he added, “We are not talking regarding any airport, we are talking regarding the Mexico City Airport, when the narco State reigned during the government of Felipe Calderón.”
In his press conference, the Mexican president recalled that when he became President of the Republic there was disorder within the government.
In the case of the AICM, he said, it was the “senior” employees of the airlines who were in charge.
“The government was at the service of a mafia of influence peddlers and there was collusion between companies and authorities. The same thing happened in the case of organized crime. So, the owners or senior employees of the airlines, all privatized, were the ones who ruled this at the airport,” he assured.
