MEXICO CITY.- A video presented on Tuesday before a New Jersey court shows the mistreatment of Christopher Gregor, 31 years oldexercised over his son, Corey Micciolowho lost his life in 2021 due to a “blunt force trauma” at just six years old.

The video shows the subject forcing his six year old son to do heavy exercise on a treadmill, because He’s very fat”which sparked outrage and has become the key to a trial of homicide due to “chronic abuse.”

The clip is dated March 20, 2021. In it, Gregor and his son are seen entering a gym, and almost immediately the subject forces the minor to get on a treadmill and run.

The recording shows Gregor increasing the speed and inclination of the device, even though the child cannot keep up with the rhythm and falls constantly. The father picks him up aggressively and there is a moment in the recording where it can be seen that the man bites his son’s head.

The child’s mother, Bre Micciolo, was the first witness to take the stand on Tuesday and might not contain her tears when watching the video. In the recording, broadcast on social networks, You can hear the woman crying.

According to the US Sun newspaper, in her testimony the mother said that, days before her son’s death, she informed the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency of the injuries he had detected.

On April 1, 2021, the woman asked Gregor to take her son to the doctor, where Corey revealed that his father made him run on the treadmill “because he was too fat.”

A day later, Corey went to take his nap, but when he woke up, he mightn’t walk well, because He stumbled constantly, slurred his speech, was nauseous, and mightn’t breathe.. Gregor took the boy to the hospital.

While having a CT scan, Corey had a seizure. Doctors tried to save him, without success.

They determine that the death of a minor was due to homicide

An initial autopsy determined that Corey died as a result of blunt force injuries with cardiac and hepatic contusions with acute inflammation and sepsis.

Gregor was arrested in July 2021 on charges of child neglect, following investigators reviewed the gym’s cameras. The arrest warrant, indicated the US Sun, identified him for “making [Corey] ran on a treadmill, increasing the speed, causing [Corey] fall, placing him back on the moving treadmill while appearing to bite his head, causing said child to fall several more times.”

In accordance with Thomas Andrew, forensic pathologistthe death of the child it was for homicidesince he suffered chronic abuse which included blunt impact injuries to the chest and abdomen; He also had a laceration in the heartcleft pulmonary intussusception and liver laceration and contusion.

They ask for life imprisonment

Andrew considered that Corey suffered an acute traumatic injury to the heart between four and 12 hours before his death.

Gregor is being held in the Ocean City Jail, without bail. If he is found guilty, he faces life imprisonment.
