Call of Duty not showing up on Xbox Game Pass subscription? A price increase possible soon? There currently appears to be disagreement at Microsoft as to whether or not Call of Duty will be included in the Xbox Game Pass subscription.
Turbulent times at Microsoft and for all Xbox fans (once once more). The bad news does not stop and following Microsoft Four Bethesda studios closed hat, Perfect Dark in poor condition should be, now there’s the next piece of bad news: Call of Duty may not be offered on Xbox Game Pass at all.
There are new reports that Microsoft has been debating for months whether or not it would make sense to offer the new Call of Duty game directly as a subscription.
The background for the assessments is the financial losses one would have to accept if the new Call of Duty part were to be offered as a subscription right away when it was published.
There’s also a price increase for the Xbox Game Pass offering, which should be overdue. However, if Call of Duty is indeed included in the Xbox Game Pass subscription immediately following its release, this might further affect the price adjustment of the offer.
A note: Please note that these are only internal considerations that are said to have caused discussions at Microsoft. There have been no announcements that Call of Duty will not end up on Xbox Game Pass or that the price will be increased.
What solutions would you suggest to Microsoft to stop these internal discussions?
Of course, we thought regarding that too and had three solutions to make players happy and wild (without wishful thinking). EA Play model as a model toe. This means that all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get access to a trial version of Call of Duty upon release, but will then have to purchase the game to be able to play it on Day 1. After 12 months, the 2024 Call of Duty installment would land on Xbox The Game Pass subscription in 2025. This will be implemented without a price increase.
Additionally, all Xbox Game Pass subscribers (Xbox Game Pass Core, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate) will have access to all beta dates.
Another option would be an add-on Call of Duty Pass to offer, where a subscription specific to Call of Duty will be offered, corresponding thereto Rockstar games with GTA+ maybe. This CoD pass will “only” include everything from Call of Duty and also the latest release Day 1, nothing else. This CoD pass can even be split into standard and ultimate, for anyone who wants to subscribe to the biggest Call of Duty Ultimate Edition when it’s released.
For the total package, a Call of Duty Ultimate Pass, where Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is offered together with Call of Duty, would be a possible solution. However, this will require a price adjustment.
What do you think of the proposed solutions?
- Xbox Game Pass Ultimate + Call of Duty for the current calendar year according to the EA Play model
- Call of Duty 2024 will not be included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate until 12 months following release
- Call of Duty Pass (Standard and Ultimate)
- The worry-free package for all Call of Duty players with Standard or Ultimate Edition Day 1 and much more.
- Xbox Game Pass Call of Duty Ultimate
- The all-round gamer concern pack with Call of Duty Day 1 and much more.
