Italy – According to press reports, the Portuguese Jose Mourinho, former coach of the Italian football club Roma, has become a candidate to coach 3 Saudi clubs.
The Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported that Jose Mourinho has become one of the training options desired by several clubs, including Al-Qadisiyah, which recently returned to the professional league.
Al-Qadisiyah Club, whose ownership was transferred to Aramco and is considered one of the historical clubs in the Kingdom, wants to provide good support to its ranks, with a distinguished technical staff, before the start of the new season.
The English website “Talk Sport” also reported that Moinho is expected to arrive in Al-Khobar at the end of this month, in order to visit the club and see its facilities in preparation for taking over the job once the details of the contract are agreed upon.
Mourinho has not been associated with any team since his departure from the leadership of Roma, as he was nominated for many coaching tasks, especially in Saudi Arabia.
Jose Mourinho had previously expressed his admiration for the development witnessed by Saudi football, and despite his refusal to announce the possibility of coaching a Saudi club, he did not rule out the idea in general.
The Portuguese coach attended a boxing match in the Kingdom, and some linked this to the idea of studying one of the shows there.
Mourinho (61 years old) coached many of Europe’s top players, most notably Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Chelsea, and achieved success in each team.
But his subsequent experiences with Manchester United and Tottenham were dim, before he led Roma to achieve the first European title in its history, by winning the European Football Conference League.
