The first Eurovision semi-finals took place on Tuesday evening in Sweden. France is one of the automatically qualified countries. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict took the stage during the evening.
At Eurovision, six countries are always automatically qualified for the final. These are the main countries funding the European Broadcasting Union, which organizes the competition: Germany, Spain, France, Italy, the United Kingdom and the organizing country, Sweden this year.

Tuesday evening, a first semi-final was organized in Malmö in Sweden.
