The Minister of National Education, Primary Education and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, confirmed today, Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at the Council of Advisors, that the Ministry will respect the decisions of the competent disciplinary councils entrusted with examining the files of some of the suspended professors.

In his answer to an oral question during the oral question session, Mr. Benmoussa stressed the independence of these councils in their decisions, explaining that they “will work to guarantee the rights and fairness of these professors.”

He added that the disciplinary councils “have independence, will work flexibly and will not be exposed to any pressure from any party, and will look into the files presented to them and take appropriate decisions regarding them,” explaining that the ministry has entrusted regional committees in the regional academies of education and training to look into the files of the arrested professors and has taken a group of Decisions, while other files were presented to the disciplinary councils.

Mr. Benmoussa recorded that some of the arrested teachers “were not suspended because they went on strike, but rather because they engaged in illegal practices and behavior that violate the sanctity of institutions and the freedom of others,” pointing out that the Ministry of National Education, Primary Education and Sports “to the extent that it defends the rights of men and women in education, to the extent that What stresses the right of students to study.”

He highlighted that the Ministry took initiatives in an effort to reduce the waste of school time and give priority to the best interests of learners, as the striking teachers were invited to resume their work and return to their workplaces, and the wage deduction procedure was stopped for employees who resumed their work during the month of January, stressing “the Ministry’s keenness to Responding to the educational demands of the working people, including approving the basic system.”
