The LOS Angeles Lakers officially announced they were parting ways with coach Darvin Ham who had recorded a record of 90 wins, 74 losses. Darvin also carried the Lakers twice playoffadvancing to the 2023 Western Conference Finals, one championship in the inaugural In-Season Tournament.
“We greatly appreciate Darvin Ham’s efforts on behalf of the Lakers and recognize his many accomplishments over the past two seasons including last year’s incredible run to the Western Conference finals,” Lakers vice president of basketball operations and general manager Rob Pelinka said in a statement.
“We all want to thank Darvin for his dedication and positive attitude. While this was a difficult decision to make, it was the best course of action following a full review of the season. The organization will remain steadfast in its commitment to delivering championship-caliber basketball to its Lakers fans all over the world,” he added.
Los Angeles entered the offseason with a lot of questions even before the coaching change. Ham looked to be on the hot seat following his second straight loss to the Nuggets, in a 4-0 loss in the Western Conference.
The Lakers’ failure this season is unfortunate because LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been mostly healthy all year. (NBA/Z-10)
