Hebrew media: The Israeli army began a military operation in eastern Rafah under heavy fire cover

Gaza – Hebrew media reported at dawn on Tuesday that the Israeli army began a military operation east of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, under heavy fire cover.

Arab media reported that Israeli warplanes carried out strong air strikes east of Rafah.

The Israeli army said that it was launching an attack on targets belonging to the faction movement in the eastern part of the city of Rafah.

Media reports reported that Israeli tanks penetrated east of the Palestinian city of Rafah under intense air cover in the airport and Jaradat areas.

The Israeli army confirmed on Monday evening that it would continue its operations in the Gaza Strip in parallel with studying the factional movement’s response to the truce and prisoner exchange proposal that the movement agreed to.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also announced that the war government unanimously agreed to continue an operation in the city of Rafah in order to increase pressure on the faction movement to release detainees and achieve other goals of the war.

At the same time, Netanyahu’s office stated in a statement that Tel Aviv will send a delegation to meet with negotiators to try to reach an acceptable agreement.

On Monday, the faction movement announced its approval of the ceasefire proposal.

The faction movement said in a statement that the head of the movement’s political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, made a phone call with the Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, and with the Egyptian Minister of Intelligence, Abbas Kamel, and informed them of Hamas’s approval of their proposal regarding the ceasefire agreement.
