The opening keynote of WWDC24, in which Apple will present its next operating systems, is approaching — and we are already following rumors regarding some possible news. In this sense, the company may give a makeover to the Notes apps (Notes), Calculator (Calculator), Calendar (Calendar) and others.
Now, new information released by AppleInsider realize that the company will take advantage of the generative artificial intelligence to provide editing capabilities to the Photoshop no Photos app (Photos).
The resource, dubbed “To clean” (“Clean Up”)would be present in the pre-release version of macOS 15. More precisely, Apple would have placed it in the edit menu alongside existing options for adjustments, filters and cropping.
According to the report, the resource appears to replace the tool Retouching, available in the latest versions of the Photos app for macOS. Unlike this tool, however, the “Clean Up” feature is expected to offer improved editing options and the ability to remove larger objects from a photo.
As “Clean Up”, users will be able to select an area of a photo via a brush tool and remove specific objects from an image. In built-in versions of the app, testers can also adjust the brush size to make it easier to remove smaller or larger objects.
Although the feature itself is being tested on the next generations of Apple’s operating systems, the company would have given a taste of it when announcing its next special event, which will be held this Tuesday (7/5).
More precisely, the art promoting the event on Apple’s website allows you to erase part or all of the logo by moving your finger/mouse over it, something that might function as the resource in question.
O AppleInsider also compared Apple’s possible future feature to the tool “Content-sensitive padding” (“Content-Aware Fill”), do Adobe Photoshop. This option allows users to remove objects from an image by leveraging generative AI.
Naturally, the new feature is expected to make its debut alongside Apple’s new operating systems; however, there is a possibility of a mention of this at tomorrow’s event. We’ll see…
