that’s what everyone does. The strange reportage of the left-wing newspaper –

Piero Fassino is under investigation for theft in the Fiumicino airport duty free perfume case. And what does Repubblica invent to cover the story? A reportage on “that’s what everyone does”. “Five thieves with suitcases every day in the Fiumicino duty free”, the title of the article from the left-wing newspaper, which tells how Duty Free 25 in terminal 1 of the Rome airport – now nicknamed “the Fassino one” – is taken constantly targeted by thieves, despite the presence of around forty 360 degree cameras.

Fassino investigated for theft. Pd embarrassment... and he disappears:

“This round space that embraces travelers heading to the gates – 3,556,648 in March alone – is a catalyst not only for those who have to buy a last minute gift or want to take with them a souvenir of the Capital but also for professional thieves and of occasion. Tonight, for example, those in charge of security already know that there will be at least one theft of a certain value. There will almost certainly be an arrest because the traveler arriving from Romania has been caught several times”, a passage from the newspaper piece directed by Molinari. And the members of the security explain the situation: “He is part of a group of thieves who buy low-cost tickets from Bucharest, Krakow and other cities with the sole intention of cleaning up the Duty Free shops, both in the departure airports and in those of arrival. They fill their trolleys with at least a thousand euros of goods, compared to a flight that costs just under 100 euros.” And once more: “The profile is high. In the last 20 years here we have denounced high prelates, magistrates, lawyers, teachers who take school groups on trips, teachers of constitutional law, painters, artists”. “There’s a bit of everything, actually, but the professionals stand out, there’s no doubt regarding it”, a tip from a policeman. In total there are 4-5 interventions per day by the police, with an average of 150 per month.

Porro's disbelief: “Very sad scene”. Then the sentence on Fassino: it's kleptomania

“It is unbearable to have to witness almost every day someone who earns a boatload of money and steals everything. There are raids all the time here. Fassino causes a sensation but I assure you that many other high professionals also have the same habit”, the outburst of an employee of the shop collected by Repubblica, who tries to highlight that it is not only the PD deputy who behaves like this. As if this were a mitigating factor.

Fassino, the investigation begins. The shop assistant's story: I saw it...
