Reichenberg was born in Leksand and has played both for Färjestad and Oskarshamn in the SHL.
On Sunday, his Norwegian club Lillehammer issued the death notice on its website.
“It is unbelievably sad to think that he will never get to hear the crowd’s rhythmic shouts in the Eidsva Arena and that we who sat in the stands will never get to see the player with the big smile, the extra feint or the rock-hard shot from the drawing circle in the power play,” writes the club.
Reichenberg is one of the club’s biggest profiles of all time and, in addition to Sweden and Norway, has also played ice hockey in the Czech Republic and Austria.
He has also made a number of international appearances for Norway and played in the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics.
The last three seasons he played for the parent club Lillehammer and last season scored 44 points in the regular season.
