Nokia, the Finnish multinational communications and information technology company, is set to launch a modern version of its popular mobile phone “Nokia 3210”, which dates back to 1999, with a modern twist in 2024.
French news channel BFM reported on Monday that this information was revealed through a tweet from the company on the social network “X” (formerly Twitter) in mid-March, where Nokia announced “the return of a icon in May” with a blurred yellow camera image.
The channel added that the mysterious yellow smartphone equipped with a unique image sensor on the back might be the “Nokia 3210” phone, of which this was one of its versions.
The Nokia 3210 phone was one of the flagship models of the early 2000s, with over 160 million units sold.
Its success is due in particular to the presence of the “Snake” game and the possibility of personalizing its cover by changing it or even its ringtone.
It is noteworthy that the Nokia 3210 phone was released on March 18, 1999, that is, 25 years before the emergence of the social networking site “X”. Next May, Nokia will celebrate its 159th anniversary.
