During the briefing, the spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that India is ready to auction some blocks of lithium deposits allegedly discovered in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and there are concerns that a corporation outside the Occupied Territories may sell Kashmir’s valuable assets. Contracts will be awarded to exploit the resources that Kashmiris have a right to.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that these actions are illegal and exploitative, Kashmir should not be deprived of its natural resources, Kashmiri people have the right to the wealth of the region including mineral resources.
He also demanded India to abandon such exploitative projects.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that Secretary Commerce Khurram Agha visited Afghanistan from March 21 to 24 to discuss bilateral trade issues with Commerce Minister Afghanistan Nooruddin Azizi.
He said that the two sides discussed bilateral preferential trade agreement, implementation of temporary entry document for commercial vehicle drivers and resolving the issue regarding transit trade.
Mumtaz Zara Baloch said that we encourage progress on this issue and are committed to promoting trade and people-to-people relations with Afghanistan.
