The actress left her mark over the years both in the theater and on television with characteristic and of course very important roles.
Anna Panagiotopoulou was born in Kypseli. Since her childhood she wanted to be an actress. She grew up in a big city environment, which had nothing to do with the theater, while her parents didn’t want her to do anything like that. When she was sent to Switzerland to study, she secretly returned and took the National exams. There he first met Stamatis Fasoulis, with whom he was in the same class.
Anna Panagiotopoulou: The roles “stations” of the career
Together with Stamatis Fasoulis, they were key members of the Free Theater – almost from its beginnings – and starred in its first big hit “And you comb your hair”, which made it known and loved by the general public. They staged performances of a diverse repertoire, from Brecht to Khourmouzi. They got a permanent “roof” when they went to Alsos Pagratiou. At the same time, until then, the troupe participants were engaged in other jobs for a living.
In 1980, the Free Theater stopped and the Free Stage was founded, by Anna Panagiotopoulos and Stamatis Fasoulis, which was essentially a renaming of the Free Theater. Anna Panagiotopoulou continued with reviews, in which she acted but also wrote the script.
She became widely known through her participation in television series, first on state television and then on private television. A milestone in her television career (and her personal “favorite”) is considered to be the incarnation of “Madame Sousou” in the adaptation of Dimitris Psatha’s novel of the same name in the 1986-87 season (along with Thanasis Papageorgiou, Angelos Antonopoulos, Natasha Asikis, etc. .).
Huge success was also achieved by the series: The Three Graces (with Minas Adamakis, Nenas Mendi, Anna Kyriakou) and Dolce Vita (with Katiana Balanika, Maria Kavoianni, Maria Foka, Thanasis Efthymiadis, Katerina Ziogou, Pavlos Orkopoulos, Galini Tseva etc.) .a.), which are considered “classic”.
In the 2003-2004 television season, he co-hosted the game show The Millions Show with Fotis Sergoulopoulos, Christos Efthymiou, Menio Sakellaropoulos, Cleonas Grigoriadis and Mathildi Magyra, which premiered in October 2003 on MEGA.
On television she has appeared in the series Safe Sex, Crying Out of Heaven, Oxygen, Strictly Appropriate, Grim Greek Short Story, Madame Soussou, Fruitopia, The Three Graces, High Rock, Eliza and the Others, Dolce Vita, The Two Sins , Munich Munich, Miss Margarita, Small Sins, Patras-Venice, The Nanny, Eat Your Chocolate, I Love You Forever, Seven Deadly Mothers-in-Law, The Red Room.
Anna Panagiotopoulou got married in 1972. She had a son, Dimitris (1973), who gave her a grandchild. He lived in Lycabettus but spent long periods of time, even a year, in Tinos.
Before graduating from the National University, in 1968 he had participated in Euripides’ Alcestis with Eleni Chatziargyri as the protagonist.
