BB.lv: Three new bike paths will appear in Riga: where will the routes be located?

The new bike paths will increase Riga’s overall cycling infrastructure network by eight kilometers.

In the vicinity of Agenskalns and Kipsala, a bicycle path will be created on the Balasta dambis section from Krišjana Valdemāra Street to Daugavgrivas Street and will connect the bicycle route between the Cable-stayed Bridge and Uzvaras Park, where until now there was a gap. The new cycling infrastructure will provide easy access to the future Preses Nams quarter, the headquarters of AS Swedbank, as well as Kipsala Beach. This stage will increase the cycling infrastructure network of Pardaugava by 1.3 kilometers

In the vicinity of Mezciems, bicycle infrastructure will be created along the entire 1.1-kilometer length of Gaiļezera Street.

The connection between Čekurkalns and Mežaparks will be established by creating cycling infrastructure on Viskali and Ezermalas streets. Two one-way bicycle paths will be built on these streets, which will complement the existing 5.6-kilometer network of cycling infrastructure.
