– The leader of the Labor Party is not a terrorist. Neither are Nicolai Tangen and Jens Stoltenberg. Comparing Støre to Netanyahu is hopeless. Putting Støre on a terror list while denying that Hamas has carried out terror is even worse, writes Mímir Kristjánsson on his own Facebook-side Saturday morning.
The reaction comes following Rød Ungdom leader Amrit Kaur published a Tiktok post on Friday in which she labeled Jonas Gahr Støre, Jens Stoltenberg and oil fund manager Nicolai Tangen as terrorists. In the post, she also mentions Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden.
Afterwards, Kaur withdrew the designation for Støre, but maintained it for Stoltenberg and Tangen.
– Embarrassed and angry
The statements come in an article in which she criticizes the oil fund and Norges Bank’s investments in arms companies that have agreements with Israel.
– I have many friends in the AUF and the Labor Party. I am proud that Rødt took the lead in throwing Sylvi Listhaug because she accuses them of being terrorists. Now I am embarrassed and angry – in fact I would say I am furious – because the leader of Rød Ungdom is following in Listhaug’s footsteps, writes Mimir Kristjansson.
– Absurd
Party colleague in the Storting, Sofie Marhaug, also expressed on social media that the Red Youth leader misses badly with his plan. On Saturday morning, she updated her profile on Facebook with “22. July – We never forget”.
– Jonas Gahr Støre is not a terrorist. The Labor Party is not a terrorist party. We should be proud that the government has, following all, criticized Israel, even though the government can and should do more, writes Marhaug.
– It is absurd to have to write something like what I am doing now, but it clearly needs to be emphasized, she adds.
Sorry for the derailment
In a post on Facebook on Saturday morning, Kaur apologized for “calling someone a terrorist”. At the same time, she emphasizes that the government must be criticized.
– It was a derailment to call someone a terrorist, and by doing so I trivialized the experiences of the survivors and relatives. I apologize for that, know that it was absolutely not the intention, writes Kaur and continues:
– Nevertheless, I believe it is necessary to criticize the government led by Støre when they react passively to an ongoing genocide. It would be completely wrong to talk regarding Norway as a small country that sits on the view and watches. Norway is an active promoter of the genocide once morest the Palestinian people.
