Mazda is extending the model: After the CX-60, the Japanese manufacturer has now introduced the long version CX-80 – with either six or seven seats. The five-door car, which is around five meters long, is the second model following the CX-60 to be based on the large platform with longitudinally installed engines.
Speaking of drive: When the new Mazda CX-80 comes to Austria in autumn, there will be two electrified drive variants to choose from: the CX-80 PHEV with plug-in hybrid drive and the six-cylinder diesel with 3.3 liter displacement and 48-volt mild hybrid. Support. Both engines are coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. And the driving force is transferred to the road via all-wheel drive.

The all-wheel drive system is designed to be rear-biased and supplies the front wheels with variable torque depending on the driving situation and driving mode. The Mi-Drive (Mazda Intelligent Drive Select) switch allows control and driving pleasure to be adjusted across four different driving modes. There is even a fifth selection available for the plug-in hybrid: EV mode.
