Delgado goes for the second

When the Yucatan Lions announced Randall Delgado, many praised the signing of the right-hander from Panama. At the start of the season, the Las Palmas native has not left those who recommended him coming to the cave wrong.

And Randall has been one of the most notable in the Yucatecans’ rotation. He is 1-0, with a 2.70 ERA in 10 innings, with two bases and eight strikeouts.

He hopes to continue in that line when he takes the hill to open the third game of the series once morest the Tigres, at the recently inaugurated “Víctor Cervera Pacheco” Stadium in Kanasín.

Delgado has experience in the Major Leagues, having added a record of 30-29 in eight seasons, with Atlante and Arizona. The right-hander, nicknamed “Pupi,” knows it, and he hoped to have an interesting campaign in his debut with the Lions. Manager Roberto Vizcarra said in advance of the campaign that the experience of pitchers like Delgado would be essential to maintain pace in the rotation. And from what he saw in his first appearances, he was just what they needed in the cave.

Cesilio Pimentel was announced for the Tigers, a Dominican left-hander who has not had everything with him: he has a record of 0-1 with a high 9.35 earned runs.

The third clash of the first battle of beasts is announced for 7:35 p.m. on Thursday.
