TWO young musicians, The Corner of My Room and Maseta, collaborated on their latest single, Crash n Burn.
The release of this single follows Maseta’s two previous singles, which came out last year, ODP and August Lagi; also the second mini album The Corner of My Room, entitled Perplexed and Confused; very puzzled.
Upholding the experiences felt by most of the younger generation, Crash n Burn tells the story of the importance of support from the people closest to you in living your life.
Through this single, Cal, nicknamed The Corner of My Room, wants to give voice to continuing to be positive in living life even though he has been knocked down many times.

“Terkadang you feel stuck and knowing there are people who love you and care for you and believe in you, you just keep going,” jelas Cal.
Meanwhile, Maseta considers this song as a form of seeking validation amidst a cruel life. This encourages various parties to believe in the slightest progress in one’s journey.
Crash n Burn, which lasts 4 minutes 15 seconds, is an uptempo pop song decorated with psychedelic and alternative music. Both elements are reflected in the outro which is slower than the entire song.

Maseta himself interprets this song as a process of pursuing something that cannot be achieved and the outro itself as burnout and meltdown because he is too tired. Through Crash n Burn, they try to accompany listeners who feel stressed by the situation.
This collaboration was initiated by Cal following the two became friends through social media.
“I want to do a lot of collaborations because I’ve been making music alone for a long time. “By chance there was a demo that I thought was suitable for a collab with Maseta and he enthusiastically accepted my invitation,” said Cal.

“The demo that Cal sent was really interesting! “We make it together until the result clicks and connects,” said Maseta.
Accustomed to producing alone, Cal found many new experiences through this collaboration that he never had when making music alone.
Crash n Burn was written by the two of them, namely Annisa Callystha and Maseta Pratama and produced by them together with Ollie Lazuardi. This single went through a mixing process by Wishnu Ikhsantama W. and mastering by Bryan Lowe.
Apart from that, Maseta and The Corner of My Room will also hold a performance with a live band on May 4 2024 in celebration of the release of the single Crash n Burn at Nene Moyang, PosBloc, Central Jakarta, with opening acts Adeliesa, Kura Kura Parafin, and also Carrom Club.
Crash n Burn is available on all digital streaming channels starting April 26 2024. (RO/Z-1)
