The spring storm reaches Läänemaa
On Monday, the two-week Kevadtorm exercise begins, which this year takes place in Western Estonia and may result in more noise than usual. This year, Kevadtorm will take place in Lääne, Pärnu and Viljandi County and on the islands. A total of 14,000 soldiers from 15 countries will take part in the exercise, of which 10,000 are the Estonian Defense Forces, reservists and defense allies, and 4,000 are allied soldiers. Not all participants reach Läänemaa, because the major combat action takes place in Pärnu County. In Läänemaa, the activities take place mainly around the Kiltsi airport and in the area of Lihula and Virtsu.
