Details: Dortmund want Klopp in new role – 2025

The 56-year-old won the Bundesliga twice, the German Cup once and the German Super Cup twice.

Klopp also managed to lead Dortmund to a Champions League final, where rivals Bayern Munich drew the longest straw.

Since October 2015, Klopp has bossed Liverpool. The German has won every major title, including the Premier League and Champions League.

In January, he announced that this would be his last season at Liverpool. Klopp feels that the energy is starting to run out and needs rest.

Klopp has been clear that he will not accept a new job this summer, but will take a break for at least a year.

Now The Independent writes that Dortmund is working on signing Klopp back – in the summer of 2025.

However, the German big club does not want him as a coach, but in a different role – as “head of football”. It is a role where Klopp would have the sporting responsibilities in Dortmund.

Dortmund have been sluggish in the Bundesliga this season. The team is in fifth place with three rounds remaining.

However, Dortmund has reached the semi-finals of the Champions League. The first match once morest Paris Saint-Germain is played tonight.

Even if Dortmund fails to finish fourth in the league or win the Champions League, they can still qualify for next year’s tournament.

Right now, Germany holds one of two extra places for next season’s Champions League. If it remains, the fifth-placed team in the Bundesliga will get a ticket to the tournament.
