“Preliminary UNDP estimates put the cost of building the Gaza Strip at more than $30 billion. It might even reach $40 billion. The scale of the destruction was enormous. This is a mission that the international community has not seen since World War II,” said UNDP Under-Secretary-General Abdallah al-Dardari.
