Bayern had a great start to the match and might have scored a goal in the first minute, but Sané’s shot was saved by Lunyin. The missed opportunity did not discourage the Bavarians, in the first quarter of an hour they put enormous pressure on the Madrid players, who might only hold onto the ball for seconds. But despite countless promising attacks, the Germans might not score a goal, which took its toll in the middle of the first half. It took nearly twenty minutes for Real to find themselves and be able to hold the ball for a longer period of time, and then they unexpectedly took the lead following Kroos’ spectacular jump. In the second half of the half, there was mostly balanced field play on the pitch without any really big chances.

After the turn, Bayern seized the initiative, but in the first minutes they might not find an antidote to the massive Madrid defense, then they turned the game around within three minutes: first they equalized with Sané’s beautiful goal, then Kane took the lead with a penalty. After that, Real possessed more of the ball, but the Munich team played more dangerously, but Carlo Ancelotti’s team unexpectedly equalized with a penalty kick, so they can expect a draw in the second leg at home.
