Amphibious backhoe reinforces drainage tasks in Ñeembucú water channels

Asunción, IP Agency.- The amphibious backhoe arrived in Pilar, as part of the reinforcement of machinery and the assistance provided by the National Government to the department of Ñeembucú, in response to the efforts made by the vice president of the Republic, Pedro Alliana.

The machinery was sent by the Ministry of Public Works and the reception was in charge of the departmental governor Víctor Hugo Fornerón, at km 7, on Route IV.

The governor highlighted that “it is as part of the management carried out by the vice president of the Republic, to request more logistical support, since the streams, lagoons and estuaries are completely overflowing and we need more machinery to work on draining the waters of the canals. ”.

He reported that “he will clean the Arroyo Hondo channel in the Humaitá district, where we have two basins and we will be working in the coming days.”

“I thank the National Government, in the person of the president and vice president of the Republic and the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Claudia Centurión, who carried out the arrangements,” he expressed in conversation with Radio Carlos Antonio López de Pilar.

For his part, the head of district 12 of the MOPC, Pedro Cantero, explained that it is a high-power machine with which a section of the Arroyo Hondo in the Humaitá area will be cleaned.

“This is an amphibious machine, special for this type of work. Day by day we will make an evaluation, because Arroyo Hondo is approximately 75 kilometers long and taking advantage of 30 to 40% of that would be interesting for us, as well as the amount of water that is evacuated to the Paraguay River,” he pointed out.

Likewise, he thanked the government for its assistance in the face of the flooding caused by the recent rains.

He highlighted that the results of the first works carried out in several channels are already being observed, which will allow work to begin on the road embankments, another great challenge that the institutions have in a few more days, he added.
