(Alliance News) – Arc Minerals Ltd celebrated progress in its African operations on Thursday, with work starting in Zambia and the first phase of a drilling program set to begin in Botswana.

According to the copper exploration company, which focuses on mining in Africa, the joint venture partner started work in Zambia following the rainy season ended. The work program will include diamond drilling, initially on two identified targets.

Meanwhile, in Botswana, a study on copper targets in PL 135/2017 is expected to be completed next week. Next, the first phase of a 2,000 meter reverse circulation drill program is expected to start this quarter.

“We are excited to begin drilling activities in Zambia and Botswana, following a long rainy season in northwestern Zambia,” said Nick von Schirnding, Chairman.

“Extensive studies have been carried out on the stratigraphic hole completed by our joint venture partner in December 2023, providing valuable information and geological data from the deepest part of the Kabompo Basin.”

Arc Minerals shares fell 5.9% to 1.65 pence each in London on Thursday followingnoon.
