Gianluigi Paragone

Franco Di Mare’s moving confession reported the pain and drama of those who have contracted cancer due to exposure to asbestos. Not only. In addition to the drama of the illness, there is also the odyssey of those who feel humanly betrayed and abandoned by those who have or would have the obligation to take care of the patient and instead make them get lost among offices and bureaucracy: the company, the ‘Inail, the papers, the signatures etc.

Franco Di Mare, with his drama, brings asbestos and its dangers to light: what has been done? A lot but absolutely not enough to protect health as per constitutional obligation. The same might happen for adverse reactions from the Covid vaccine. The stories of those who are screaming for help in vain because they have been vaccinated, and therefore have respected a state precept, but are not being listened to are starting to be different. Why? For fear of ending up in that strange roller that flattens what conflicts with the official version of facts. Susanna Tamaro knows this well, as she wrote a double page the day before yesterday in the Corriere where cultural elements and factual reporting were intertwined in a story that has the merit of putting the elephant in the room: the time of Covid and the consequences of the vaccination campaign.

The other day, among other things, one of the two companies that put the vaccines on the market, AstraZeneca, in a court in Great Britain where the request for damages from some damaged families was being discussed, had to admit that, although “extremely rare”, its anti-Covid vaccine can cause fatal thrombosis as a side effect; an admission that might also open up important scenarios not only in terms of compensation for damages.

I remember that the other multinational, Pfizer, is also involved in some important lawsuits not only for the requests for possible damages but also for the methods of negotiation with the European Commission, between the president von Der Leyen and the CEO of the company Albert Bourla.

«Our society has been crossed by a real civil war», wrote Tamaro, recalling the months of Covid, the vaccination campaign and the doubts regarding the effects. «Personally I trust in science, but I cannot believe in it in an absolute sense (…) I have witnessed three serious adverse effects that occurred around me, people I have known for decades and on whose physical and mental health I have no no doubts”, says Tamaro. And I believe that many of us have encountered similar stories. Exactly as happened many years ago with tumors caused by asbestos: but how long did it take to tear down that rubber wall made of silence and silence? How long does it take to do the same on Covid vaccine damage? «While many countries have long since set up teams of scholars to try to understand what is happening in the bodies of those damaged by vaccines, in our country the damaged people themselves are treated like impostors. If they are impostors (…) the State has the duty to unmask them; but if they are not impostors, the State itself has the absolute duty to take care in every possible way of these citizens who have obeyed the laws and who now have their lives devastated by the consequences of this obedience”. I agree.
