G. Nausėda: it is important to help Ukraine especially now, when some are losing optimism

This is what he said during the final concert of the “Radarom!” campaign, commemorating the second anniversary of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“These two years have shown us a lot. First of all, the fact that the aggressor is extremely cruel, extremely bloodthirsty and has no limits to demonstrate his cruelty”, said G. Nausėda.

“On the other hand, we saw and gained great respect for the Ukrainian people,” said the country’s leader.

According to the President, the obligation to help Ukraine was not only a year ago, when the hope that the war would end soon was greater.

“But it is especially important to help now, when it is especially difficult, when perhaps some people lose optimism or some foreign politicians think that political cycles are changing now, voters’ moods are changing,” said G. Nausėda.

“We have no right to funny political discussions. We must help Ukraine, because today it is an absolute necessity,” the president added.

The head of the country promised that support for warring Ukraine will continue to be mobilized “in both political, military and other formats”.

“We are with you until victory,” G. Nausėda concluded his speech.

Since the end of January, the largest support campaign for Ukraine “Radarom!” has been taking place in Lithuania.

During it, funds are collected for the so-called safe soldier packages for Ukrainian soldiers. About 7.5 thousand The EUR package includes a night vision monocular, a laser sight and an individual “anti-drone” manufactured by Lithuanian companies.

The Russian offensive, which began on February 24, 2022, brought enormous losses to Ukraine, and Moscow received unprecedented condemnation from the West and sanctions.
