staff will wear an African boubou to work every Friday –

The Director General of Taxes, Éric Bouma announced Wednesday during a friendly festive ceremony on the occasion of the celebration of Labor Day that the staff of his administration will wear in a few weeks an African boubou made from a loincloth in the colors and logo of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI).

The announcement was greeted with enthusiasm by the agents gathered at a magnificent site at Cap Estérias in the north of Libreville where they drank, ate and danced on the occasion of Labor Day.

The loincloth will promote the DGI. It will also allow staff to be relaxed at work on Friday, the last working day before the weekend.

Éric Bouma presented some samples of this loincloth to the agents who already wanted to obtain it. He gave these samples free of charge to former DGI guests invited to the ceremony. All agents will be staffed starting next week.

This loincloth is a great first in this administration which constitutes one of the economic lungs of post-oil Gabon.

The DGI has achieved very clear progress in recent months. According to the Gabonese Minister of Economy and Participations, Mays Mouissi, between September 2023 and February 2024, out of a target of 419.5 billion FCFA, the DGI mobilized 558.6 billion in tax revenue, i.e. a surplus of 139 .1 billion FCFA for an achievement rate of 133.1%.
