Since December last year, a strange and quite annoying bug has been affecting several iPhone users, causing the device’s alarm to not work correctly. This failure, which has been reported especially on models with iOS 17, was recognized by Applewho stated that they are actively working to find a fix.
Bug does not alarm two iPhones
Over the past few weeks, several reports have emerged on social media regarding a flaw that causes iPhone alarms to not ring, causing delays for work and other inconveniences.
Some users believe the problem is related to “Attention Aware Features”, a feature available on Apple smartphones. Apple which reduces the volume of notifications when the user looks at their cell phone.
Apparently, this feature is not correctly interpreting whether the user is, in fact, paying attention to the cell phone. Therefore, the system ends up reducing the alarm volume while the person is sleeping.
Considering that the alarm is one of the functions most used by users, solving this bug has been one of the company’s priorities. Applefollowing all, it has been causing real problems, whether it’s waking up and going to work or setting a reminder for an important task.
The Cupertino giant did not confirm whether the problem was caused by the feature, but you can take precautions by deactivating the option: just go to “Settings > Face ID and Code”. Unfortunately, there is no information on when the fix will be available.
