Asunción, IP Agency.- Asunción, as the host city for major sporting events, receives coaches from several countries until Saturday, April 27, to participate in the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) 1 Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.
In close collaboration between the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and the Pan American Gymnastics Union (UPAG), this rhythmic gymnastics event is held in Paraguay, with experts Marta Bobo, from Spain; and Anita Klemann, from Brazil.
The official opening and information session was last Tuesday the 23rd, where the official presentation of both experts and 21 participants from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Paraguay, and Venezuela was made.
The Academy takes place in the Pavilion of the Paraguayan Gymnastics Federation in Asunción, and culminates this Saturday with the practical exams and final presentations of the participating coaches.
This is a transcendental initiative for the development and excellence in rhythmic gymnastics in the region, the FIG 1 Academy started with great enthusiasm and commitment in the Paraguayan capital. The close collaboration between the FIG and the PAGU represents a milestone in the training of specialized coaches in this discipline.
Paraguay opens up to the world in different sports disciplines
The president of the Paraguayan Gymnastics Federation (FPG), Paula Espínola, highlighted that our country is hosting this event, it is also very valuable for the coaches, since Paraguay opens up to the world in different sports disciplines.
“It is an event organized by the FPG with the support of the FIG and PAGU, we are the host country for this course and following a theoretical exam, the coaches arrive at the organizing country to do the practical classes, which started on Tuesday. “Friday and Saturday are the final exam days for the coaches,” he explained.
“In total there are 21 participants from different countries. The organizing country provides the space for practices, gymnasts who can prepare for their exams. The experts are sent from the FIG, the ones we were assigned to this academy are from Spain and Brazil,” she explained.
“This event is very important because this is how we are known in other countries. We applied last year in October, and in January they told us to do (acceptance). Certain requirements must also be met so that the trainers can come to take their practical exam. Only those who pass the theoretical exam can access the practical exam,” she remarked.
