Cn Monday, pharmaceutical group Multipharma announced the purchase of 88 Goed-apotek. The agreement, entered into for an unknown amount, includes the acquisition of 88 pharmacies as well as pharmaceutical wholesale operations. “The PMI division, which supplies individual drug doses per dose on behalf of, among other things, residential centers, is not part of the acquisition,” specifies Multipharma.

The 436 employees at Goed pharmacies and the pharmaceutical wholesaler will continue to work there following the acquisition.

Goed’s pharmaceutical activities achieved a positive operating result of 3.3 million euros for a turnover of 169 million euros in 2023.

An operation is currently being completed

Operations should be completed within the next few weeks, adds Multipharma, which has 1,800 employees and 243 pharmacies.

“By further investing in the collaborative pharmacy model, Multipharma better meets the patient needs of healthcare and greatly contributes to making healthcare accessible to a greater number of patients,” emphasized Geert Reyniers, CEO of Multipharma.

Goed will now focus on strengthening its offer of home care, and meeting the growing demand for medical services and equipment for living at home. Multipharma’s purchase of its pharmacies comes following a “turbulent” period for the company, characterized by “consecutive closures, inflation and competition from online players who do not provide quality advice”.
